Hi! Just a little bit of history about my kennels.
A little bit of background about Bhuachaille German Shepherds. Bhuachaille meaning "Shepherd" in Scot's Gaelic.
The kennel was founded in 1968, before the lifting of the import ban into Australia. Our foundation bitch, Limberville Kirsty, CDX, was as you can imagine, Aussie bred and we thought the world of her.
Over the years, my husband Tom and myself developed a type and, after the import ban was lifted the kennel went ahead in leaps and bounds, this by judiciously selecting stud dogs to compensate for the structural faults in our bitches and of course never losing sight of producing those excellent stable characters, for as we all know, here in Australia 99% of puppies go into homes as family pets.
In December 2002 we managed to breed the Queensland, 2005 National, Gold Medal winning bitch, Bhuachaille Jazz Leader (it took a long time to get there), she was owned and excellently prepared for that prestige show by Andrew Thor, of Narathor German Shepherds. See photo on Jazz Leader's page.
Unfortunately in July 2007, my Tom passed away but, the kennel is still as strong as ever and my friend, Peta Jones (of Hill Magic German Shepherds, Queanbeyan) and myself purchased the outstanding German Dog, Turbo v Casselswald, SchH111, "a", "ED" Normal, Kkl 1. and another male, Tais vom Haus Alfabo. These dogs have become the corner stone of both Hill Magic and Bhuachaille's breeding programmes.
